Time for a Peugeot!
Meet the 401, made in 1934 and 1935. It was powered by a larger, 1.7 litre version of yesterday’s 301 engine producing 44 bhp. Doesn’t sound to be very interesting but it was.
The 401 was made with eleven different body styles one of which was this, the Eclipse. Yes, this one’s a model. Get over it.
Its claim to fame was that it was available with an electric folding roof, an idea which Peugeot came back to decades later with the 206CC. Only 79 were made. A fair number remain and you’ll pay dearly for one.
